Brighton HS FOOTBALL

Rules and Expectations

 

Attendance:

  1. My expectations are that each member of the BHS football program is punctual, present and participating on a daily basis.
  2. Each player is allowed one unexcused absence from any practice for any reason.
  3. The second unexcused absence may result in their removal from the team.
  4. Any absence of which the coach is not notified, in advance, may be considered unexcused.
  5. Absences from practices/games for any reason other than personal illness or family emergency will not be excused. Documentation may be required.

 

Events/Games/Practice:

  1. All events listed on the team calendar are mandatory (calendar is subject to change).
  2. All players should be properly equipped with safety materials needed.
  3. All players will be required to travel to and from all away events with the team. If there is a legitimate reason for alternate transportation, notice must be given to the coach prior to leaving the school. Under NO circumstances will a coach release a player to another player’s parent or guardian for transportation from an event.
  4. Appropriate practice clothes and shoes must be worn at all practices.
  5. ALL jewelry is considered a MHSAA safety hazard and should be removed before games and practices.
  6. Uniforms are the property of BHS and must be well maintained. If lost, stolen or abused, the cost of the uniform will be charged to whom it was last issued to.
  7. At practice players are required to wear:
    • BHS issued attire and/or practice packages.
  8. No players are allowed to leave playing area during a game without permission.
  9. No parents are allowed in playing area during competition.

 

Eligibility:

  1. All players must be in school all day to practice or compete in a game.
  2. All football players are required to follow BHS standards and guidelines for academic eligibility.
  3. All players must attend school Friday, the entire day to compete in any weekend game.

 

Expectations:

  1. All players are expected to act in an appropriate manner as a representative of the BHS FOOTBALL TEAM and this community. Illegal use of alcohol, tobacco, insubordination, or any other behavior considered inappropriate will result in consequences up to removal from the team.
  2. All bumps bruises and injuries are to be reported to the trainer/coach as soon as possible to help avoid serious injury in the future.
  3. Football is a sport that requires many hours of hard work and dedication. I believe that the hard work and sacrifice will lead to a successful program.
