Strength & Conditioning Philosophy
We will develop mental and physical toughness. We will train to be champions in everything that we do. Our workouts will force you to compete and challenge yourself every day. Do NOT show up unless you're ready to work!!!
Football is a game of explosive movements. You must train explosively to be explosive! You will not achieve “on-the-field” results by training in a slow controlled manner. Bodybuilding and general strength training will make you stronger, but often at the expense of speed, flexibility and power. At BHS we will be following a strength training program designed to improve your performance on the field. EVERY exercise that we perform will carry over to the field in some fashion. If it has no carry over it will not be in our program.
An added benefit to our program is that it carries over from sport-to-sport. If you are a multi-sport athlete you DO NOT have to train differently for each sport. If you are strong, powerful, explosive and can change directions quickly you will improve in every sport that you participate in. Don’t get pulled into the thought that you should train differently for each sport. There are very few exceptions to this rule which will be addressed by the coach.
